11 Ton Gas Heat Pump
The 11 Ton gas heat pump heats indoor spaces by pulling heat from the outside air into the indoor air. They can be switched into reverse to move heat from the indoor air into the outdoor air to cool down the indoor space. A compressor, which evaporates and condenses refrigerant, enables the transfer of heat from one space to another. Unlike an electric heat pump which uses an electric motor to power the compressor, a GHP uses clean burning natural gas in a combustion engine to drive its compressor.
The 11 ton Packaged Gas Heat Pump (PGHP) is equivalent in size to conventional units, however, in a retrofit application all that is required is a curb adaptor to the existing roof curb of an electric unit. It can replace multiple outdoor electric condensing units and gas furnaces. A unique feature of the PGHP is its ability to capture the waste heat from the engine and provide the potential for water heating. This improves the overall energy efficiency of the unit.
